Hello 2013!
And hello Summer - today is one of the hottest days I've experienced since moving up north, I'm trying to keep cool with a fan and a spray bottle of water, but I think it will be time for a swim once this post is written. I used to feel a bit nervous about swimming in dams (who knows what is lurking in them?) but I have quickly gotten over that.
I wanted to share a few pictures of the beautiful property I am currently staying on, I am so grateful to have such a generous friend who is letting me stay with them while I get myself sorted out and find a permanent place to live and work. This is the view I wake up to each morning... sometimes there will be low lying mist floating through the valley, at other times there will be pink and orange clouds brushing the tops of the mountains. A chorus of birdsong gently wakes me up. This morning I saw a brush turkey running past, and yesterday there were 3 wallabies grazing on the grass.
This is the cute little cabin I am calling home at the moment, it's just big enough to have a desk set up where I can pack up orders from the sale that is currently running in the online store. I love to sit and eat breakfast on the sofa overlooking the valley.
This morning I went to check out the local farmers market, and came home with a big basket of fresh fruit and veggies for the week. There is also a great whole foods shop in the main town where I've been having fun filling up my own containers of nuts, seeds, grains etc. I also popped in to the post office where the staff were so friendly, it made my day. I think I am really going to love living here : )
I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start xx

Your little place looks lovely and tranquil. It's nice to move somewhere new and experience change.
